Help

I rarely do this. Extremely rarely do this.

I know some of you believe in prayer. So I'm asking those of you who do to do so.

I have a grandmother in her 70s. She's extremely underweight, extremely affected by a very bad case of arthritis throughout her body. And suffering from something like 60% boneloss already. (or more, it's a large number but it escapes me...)

I've found out she's in the hospital. She fell. And it was bad. She had to get stitches in face and head. And now they're doing x-rays in back, neck, and arms because they suspect broken bones. She already had other health problems that make it hard to heal.

She'll live, certainly. But that's not the worry. Living and living comfortably are two different things after all. At that age it's just so hard to heal, especially from something like this.

For me though that's where faith comes in. And why I'm reaching out. If you are a person of faith, if you could please pray I would appreciate it more than words can say. If you aren't, I know this wonderful community will have many words of encouragement. And I preemptively thank you for them. They mean every bit as much.

Thank you,

CT

I'm sorry to hear about your grandmother. My father is in his 70's and I know how these illnesses can weaken them. Every day is a challenge with chronic conditions.

I hope she is feeling better soon.

Many prayers for her, and for you, too, Ct. Some times the hardest thing we can do is to remain present, to not look aside when someone is in pain. Sometimes that is all we *can* do. Being real. Being there. Compassion is so priceless. For her, for yourself. Bright Blessings... D.

I'm so sorry for you CT. My grandmother has ongoing health problems that she refuses to admit, leaving us all worried, especially as she forbids our grandfather to tell us them. It's scary to find out that all these things have been happenign whilst we were unaware. Whilst she may not be able to acheive the same quality of life as she had previously, at least she is alive and that is something to be thankful for.

CT, I'm thinking of your Grandmother. I am sending thoughts upwards. I am thinking of you, also.

I'm very sorry for the both of you, and the rest of your family. These things are hard to go through for everyone. As you say, being alive and having a good life is not the same thing, but then again, sometimes humans are much tougher than we think...
I hope this time won't be too hard on either of you.

Thank you everyone who has commented and prayed.
At this point my grandmother has been released from the hospital.
But she's had an infection of some sort for quite some time and they can't figure out what it is.
So she's being sent to a specialist. I've not had any word since that. But at least she is well enough to have been released.
I thank you all again, it's humbling when people step forward to help.

I just found this blog today, I'll keep your grandmother with me in my prayers over the next week, let us know how the visit to the specialist turns out.

I'm going to answer for CT, Adam, I think he's on the road right now and will be gone through the weekend. His grandmother was released, but they are still not sure what caused her illness. But I know CT will appreciate your prayers a great deal. Thank you!
