Grand Central Freeze Flash Mob
Canterrain inspired me to post this flash mob video. Flash mobs are short-lived viral events where lots of people arrange to meet someplace very public at a precise moment, do something a bit odd, and then disperse just as quickly. Sometimes the instigators simply post an announcement of the flash mob on the internet and then it takes on a life of its own. A well executed flash mob often leaves bystanders scratching their heads and wondering, "What the heck was *that*??"
The choreographed flash mobs like the one Canterrain posted would take a lot more work ahead of time than this one. This one is a simpler idea ... a freeze mob in Grand Central Station in NYC.
My favorite is the guy with the cart. "I don' know. They're just standin' there frozen and won't move. I can't move my cart!"

Comment by Silvara Dragontear on April 10, 2009 at 3:49pm - I would probably be one of the confused bystanders who probably would spend the rest of the day wondering what the heck happened and why. And I would at the end blame it on a ufo. ;)
