Sorry it has been a while. Got lost in life and I have finally fought my way out.

Anyway, I have gotten hooked on the new Dr Who series lately. (Fabulous, BTW.) This fascination quickly grew into an obsession, I am embarrassed to relate. In order to break this obsession, I have dived into waters I have never attempted to swim before. Namely - fan fiction.

My first story went swimmingly. Everything turned out just the way I wanted it to, my characters didn't decide to go off in another direction, and I will definitely try to come up with my own alien names from now on as the alien name generator I found was pretty bunk. (As for my characters going off in another direction, I am sure you writers out there now what I am talking about. My characters are sometimes rather militant about their preferences.)

The second story however is a bit of a problem. I have all my ideas laid out. I know exactly what I want to do, but I have trouble getting there. I have always had trouble with writing "filler". I once wrote a novel (as of yet unpublished) and said everything I wanted in less then 200 pages. I have trouble writing papers more than three pages long. So I am having trouble getting to the major and minor points of this new story.

Then, BANG!!!

A muse of literature, or at least of fan fiction, cracks me over the head with something hard. Suddenly, I have ideas for a completely different story. Thanks, muse! So I now have to get all of these new new ideas out of my head so I can go back to struggling with my new ones.

So it may be a while before my second story if ready for posting. *sigh*

If any of you want to go and see my first attempt (or just laugh hysterically), feel free to go to www.whofic.com/ and search for the pen name Sarfitb.

There are some great stories there too.

Good luck with your story writing.

Welcome to the scary land of fanfiction and the scary and nonscary fans that does it. I myself has been reading alot of fanfiction both good and bad with some more Mary-Sueish than others. I have also tried my hands on writing a fanfic which i am still struggling with, after 2 years I have only come up with 3 whole chapters and some fragment of chapters that are supposed to be in the end of the story. Gah i suck at writing fanfics so I understand your problems with rebellious characters and evil muses that gives you totally new ideas when your wanting inspirations for the fic your actually is working on. Darn evil muses, but then again most of my muses has gone on strike or just left (thank good, that damn bunny was beyond scary) or been abducted and possible eaten by the dustorcs (my poor gothhippie of a poetmuse *sob*) or in cases just stopped excisting because I forgot to feed it like my gansgter muse Dusty who was named after Dusty Springfield (was on a Son of a preacherman kick at the time and the fact that I loved her voice, still do).

Not necessarily, no. Lots of fanfic writers start out that way, and as I said, you have enough interesting elements generally to keep it at bay. So long as Angela's powers develop some reasonable limits, there's no reason she shouldn't have them. She was in rather extraordinary circumstances, thus far. You just don't want to run into situations where she's solving all the ills of a planet with the power of her smile, particularly if it gives the Doctor nothing to do. ;-)

Thanks. I had to look up what a "Mary Sue" was, but thanks. I appreciate you reviewing my story. Like I said, I am new at this whole fanfic thing and I am trying to get back to writing for fun.

As for story number two, after struggling with it, it will become story number three. I would eventually like there to be a relationship between Angela and the good Doctor and that can't just happen in story two. After all, he is such a romantic character with the whole "last of my kind" and the "deep internal suffering" shtick going on, but suddenly jumping to her loving him and him liking her is a bit much. All right, I am a bit of a Mary Sue, aren't I? Is it really that bad that I am?

Well now, that was a very intriguing story indeed. I can't review on Teaspoon, so I shall do so here. :-) Well done! Things do tend to happen a bit quickly, and Angela has a few Mary-Sue tendencies, but for the most part the ideas were so interesting that didn't matter. ;-) I certainly enjoyed it, and I hope that story number two decides to cooperate a bit more relatively soon. Keep writing regardless, whether it's that or something else.
