Hi all ...
As you know, ever since purchasing my first MacBook Pro (I was previously a Dell user), I've been having a lot of fun with the program called "Garageband" that came preloaded with the computer. I been in several vocal ensembles over the years, but it's been awhile since I've had a real outlet. The nice thing about Garageband is that, if I can't find the time to arrange, write and sing songs with others, then I can at least sing with myself! My vocal range is pretty large, ranging from bass to 2nd tenor - which makes singing multiple tracks in Garageband possible. Actually, I've been wanting to try these things for awhile.
Anyway, here is my latest completed project - a cover of Bob Corbett's "Prettiest Face". I took a couple liberties with the arrangement - but otherwise it's the same. In this project, I experimented with vocal looping. I didn't sing the background vocals throughout the entire song - rather, they're looped. It's really hard to maintain vocal percussion for 5 minutes otherwise!! Your lips get tired. :-) I've already posted "Stand by me." and another short "just for fun" project in the forums. I do this all for fun and distraction. I really don't have any plans to do more with these.
Oh, I should confess one thing though ... Bob Corbett's version of this song on YouTube is the only version I know of out there. When transcribing the lyrics, try as I might, I couldn't understand the words in the third and final verse. So I made up my own. In the end, the lyrics I came up with were pretty close (I think?), but mine do keep with the spirit of the rest of the song.
Here's the latest (4.6MB).
