Last year, I wrote about my struggles with a low fat diet and how much stress I felt at the way our society degrades people of ample curves. I still struggle with these issues, but I have such good news today that I must share it.

As of this morning's weigh-in, I had lost (drum roll please)....................... 93 pounds.

Of course, the fact that I have had mild flu-like symptoms for the last few days probably helped. Still, I am excited!!!!!

Even having lost 93 pounds, I still have a long way to go. The scale read 221 this morning and doctors say that someone my height should be around 150. I try not to think about how far I have to go as it is rather daunting. I can only think about it in ten pound increments.

I am almost to my goal. To get to 100 pounds lost was my New Year's resolution and I am nearing the finish line. At least for this part of the race.

When I get to 100 pounds lost, I am going to hold a big party. I will make all sorts of fattening foods and celebrate for a few hours. Then, I think I'll go for a long walk.

You're more than half way there so give yourself a pat on the back for what you've achieved and carry on.

One way of taking out the fear is to not focus on the whole task but a smaller part of it. I never used to clean and tidy because I thought there's too much to do. Nowadays I would say to myself "let's get the dishes done", then I would focus on the rest of the kitchen, etc (and then the entire flat's clean and tidy in a reasonable time). So instead of thinking I've got another 71 lbs to lose, think I've got x lbs to lose this week/month. It makes the task more manageable.
