One more day everyone- and then Kez and I will get the files all up on a really groovy page for voting. I haven't counted the number of entries yet...spose I should do that. Good luck to everyone!
I signed up on the forum just for this. >> I've already listened to a few entries that beat the living hell out of mine, but hey, it's all in good fun, and when else will I get a chance to do voice work just for the fun of it? I opted to do Claude and Tychia, even though I'm a girl. I have a cold right now, so maybe I don't sound too effiminate for Claude! I think Tychia's way more my style anyway, so, hope you guys like! Please feel free to give me some constructive criticism, as this is my first time doing any voice work and I'd like to hear thoughts.
(I'm also American. My sincere apologies for butchering the British accent.)
Many thanks to whoever suggested Audacity for recording.
I'm one of the many who signed up for the forum mostly just for this contest, but I plan to stick around for a while since the comic is far from finished! I love to act whether it be just voice or physical, so I took a bit of a shot at it. I'm way sick and it took forever to get some recordings without coughing or going all hoarse in the middle, so I hope they sound somewhat okay. (The mess-ups are actually really funny to listen to!) I really wanted to do Kath, but my voice just wasn't up to doing the crazy bubbliness that is Kath. So... I ended up doing Adora, Xylia, and Tychia. ^_^
Please reply with your taking on my entries!
I'm glad that there are so many entries so there's good competition! Good luck to all!
(By the way... are .wav files okay? My computer was having issues converting them to mp3s. If the .wav files are not okay, will someone convert them for me or give me some kind of program that can do that? Please and thank you in advance!)
Thank you for posting that, Robin! If those of you with wav files would please do that, I would appreciate it. We need the files to be mp3s for the vote page.
All well done, Chrissy! You don't sound terribly sick in any of them; possibly most so in Tychia, just since she's more forceful, but I'm not sure what if anything is to do with having a cold and what's just style. ;-) At any rate, I think I like your Xylia best.
Thank you, Scott! I'm glad I don't sound absolutely awful, but I do agree that my "Bloody 'ell!" came out really bad when I was trying to do Tychia haha. I'm very honored that somebody likes my Xylia best. I thought she was the most difficult to do justice. (:
Hehe, thanks! I wanted to take a stab at something a bit lower than my normal range, since my voice drops so much when I'm sick. One of my friends said I sounded "snooty, British, and androgynous," so I figured that was the best I could hope for! Tychia's really who I thought I could pull off, so it makes sense that that one would sound a bit better. :)
When I have some time to play games, I love strategy games or wargames or city-builders. Especially "antiquity-like" ones. :-D Caesar IV is one of my favorites. Good graphics for a city-builder ! And it's interesting, you have to look after many t...
For those of you who have been wondering, I go into surgery today for a thyroid tumor. The surgeon decided that my entire thyroid needed to come out in order to simplify the surgery. Despite the hope I have, I am afraid. I do not wish to die and ...
