I know the voice contest is coming to a close, but Barb's little hint of having the winner asked to voice in a possible trailer got me thinking...

Why not a radio play for Xylia?

I'm familiar with another popular comic called Red String (I'm sure some of you out there heard about/read it :3 ), and they have a fan made radio play where voice actors bring the comic to life with well.. Their voice. :D

It seems a tiny bit unfair for those who don't win the grand prize and feel left out from all their efforts (NOT saying that the contest is negative in ANY WAY), so perhaps Xylia could try out a similar thing like Red String?

This is really a splendid idea, Won Mi. Another friend of mine emailed that it would be nice to have some sort of commemorative thing for the finalists.

Originally, I hadn't planned on doing the finalist thing- I was going to put all of the entries out in one vote, but we had so many, and since they were evenly spaced among the chars, it seemed best to do two separate votes. I'm working on something...

I love this idea, and I am mulling over a story idea that would incorporate all of the characters in the contest. It's a bit tricky, since they havent actually appeared together in the proper storyline- it would have to be something a bit fun and silly I think.

Let me work on this! Great idea!

Oooh, I like this idea! Something short, maybe a little spoofy. I like this idea better than mine.
I do think though, as the cartoonist Mom already up to her earlobes in work, that this needs to
be forum member made, and not a draw on your time, Barb.

So, who knows how to make a radio play? I can volunteer to help with writing, with Barb's
permission. Who knows how to assemble voice recordings into a single presentation?

Sounds fun, Peg

OK, with Barb's permission, I have volunteered to write the Xylia spoof. There shall be Chicken suits! Yarrr!

Winners of each character will play that character, however all participants in the vox contest will get at least one appearance as some sort of supporting actor. This is going to be quite silly, so practice your chuckles!

I've made a start on the writing already, but I will need a bit longer to finish it. Meanwhile can we get someone with sound editing experience to volunteer to edit this thing together once we record the clips? Since everybody who entered has recording ability, we'll record each on our own and then put it together in a grand conglomeration. *grin*

Who's with me? Peg

This sounds like a great idea, and I can't wait to see... errr.. hear what comes out of this!

One thing though, you might actually want to contact the winner of each character to make sure they want to do this/have time to do this/etc. Also there's the fact, that some of them may not even be actively watching the forum and may not realize you are even doing this at all! Might make things a little less bumpy down the road.

And I'll say it again, Xyliacs are just awesome!

Hi Josh - We're trying to do this as a fan run event, to keep the work off of Barb - we all know what a whole lot she has to manage already.

Contacting the winners is a good idea, but I don't have all their e-mails. And I don't want to ask Barb and
give her another chore. So, you're involved in the site - could you or Kez get those addresses
and send that query to the winners? And ask them to reply to me, yes or no, at 853recycler@gmail.com.
Thanks.

I'd sure appreciate it, Peg

Maybe we'll do one better. I'll suggest to Barb about putting an announcement up on the main page (something I can do) about your awesome project here and get their attention. And possibly a few others if not all the tryout people can manage it.

Sounds good - thanks! :)

Great idea, although I have to agree with Peg about this being made by forum members. We gotta be considerate of Barb's earlobes, along with the rest of her.

There will also be opportunities for fan art here, if somebody wants to draw Claude in a chicken suit, Oly in diapers
and other possibilities to be named as my punchy thoughts create them. *grin* Very probably Tychia's Singing Ninjas,
too. ;)

Peg, I await the evidence of your boundless talents with baited breath!!

OK, here's a taste. :)
Teaser - work in progress, subject to change, though this scene *will* be included in some form.

Claude - Ruuuuuuun!

*Puff, puff pant* Whew, I lost them. But, where am I now?
And how'd I get into this... dress? What, blue plaid gingham? And ruby slippers?
I feel an utter_pratt_! Oh, this _is_ a nightmare!

THUNMP!
A house! Just fell beside me? What!!!

Xylia (staggers in) - I don't think we're in Azloe any more, Livy. This straw itches!

Claude - Ohh, that's not. Tell me that isn't! OZ?

Livy-toto: I'm afraid, Claudius, that the artist and her friends have a Wicked sense of humor!

Tychia as witch:
I'll get you, my twitty, and your Livy dog too!

Claude: Run! Run more!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Will Claude escape the Wicked Tychia of the West?
Is Xylia allergic to straw?
How much wackier can this spoof get?
But wait! There's more! There's chicken suits! And ninjas!
Buuuuuuuuut -
Not yet!
(Awww....)
Hey, I told you it was a teaser! ;)
So stay tuned, to to this same exciting forum
for the next exciting episode!
Who knows, we may even give this spoof a name, eventually! *wry grin*
And such a taste it is, too. I am looking forward to seeing where this goes.
