Claudius fought in the Battle of Hastings. He was in the Navy during the Napoleonic Wars. Those are just what we know of. That sword Tychia is wielding was originally Claudius'. He must have had some training along the way, besides Oly's fitness program. And some of his lives would probably have been during pretty violent periods, too. If I'm not mistaken (I haven't checked in a while) the character profile even specifies that one of the odd things about Charlie was that he was an expert fencer, as well as knowing all about boats and herbs and being able to play the piano like a pro.
